pg-no-48

Here we take you through the latest cranes or hoists technology used in manufacturing facilities.

Finrae – Highly advanced and modular crane

According to Nilesh Karandikar, MD, Fine Handling & Automation Pvt Ltd, Today’s manufacturing expects greater agility, seamless experience with compact set-up and sleek looks. He adds,” Finrae is a first of its kind advanced aluminium rail systems for speedy, smooth and safe movement of material and fulfill all of these needs, cost-effectively. Finrae crane systems come with highly flexible modular designs, and occupy far lesser space compared to traditional systems.”

Finrae offers highly advanced and modular crane profiles, which serves as backbone of all the material transfer tasks. Designed for ergonomic and easy operation, Finrae crane profiles come with very unique and innovative features.

Unique features of Finrae crane are:

  • Easy mounting, configuration and installation options.
  • Profile geometry that’s compatible with any rail other system.
  • Easy to install on various mountings in your existing structures.
  • Aluminium rails are light weight and thus require minimum civil work for their support system.

ElectroMech – The one-stop-shop for end-to-end material handling solutions

Tushar Mehendale, Managing Director, ElectroMech Material Handling Systems India Pvt Ltd, says, “ElectroMech has always distinguished itself in the material handling space by taking the most challenging projects and executing them seamlessly to deliver value to the end customer in various industry segments.”

He adds, “When it comes to industrial material handling applications, there are various challenges at sites like very low shed headroom, need for critical hook approaches, space constraints, extreme environmental conditions, precise load handling and many more.”

However, the solutions approach has always been the way of working at ElectroMech. With strong knowhow of subject and working closely with customers, ElectroMech team crafts solutions that work in the interest of customer.  Mehendale informs, “All our solutions are backed by equally strong service through our subsidiary company Cranedge.”

Shaper drum

The most recent case where ElectroMech worked with one of the largest tyre manufacturing company having certain challenges in the handling of machines like shaper drums and its components, used in the tyre manufacturing process mainly to give desired shape to various types and sizes of tyres.

The shaper drum shaft needed certain periodic maintenance, and would cause a mandatory shut down or loss of production. There was no other way, the shaper drum components could have been removed manually as the components weigh more than 2,500 kg.

Key challenges:

  • The primary challenge of removal of the components of shaper drums in a linear direction.
  • Extremely critical headroom (space) due to exiting shed.
  • Non-availability of any support structure for erecting any overhead crane inside the closed room.
  • Lifting bundles of the heavy tyres.

ElectroMech brings the JIB-Underslung Crane

While understanding the criticality of the process and handling challenges, ElectroMech came out with a unique solution by offering a JIB crane with an Underslung crane – Both as a single solution.

ElectroMech delivered the JIB-Underslung crane as a special solution to this challenge – without any supports from the ceiling, or any other structure available at site. It is completely self-standing structure on its own pillar.

STAHL CraneSystems – Open to new aspects, innovative and high-performance

STAHL CraneSystems ranks among the leading manufacturers of hoisting technology and crane components on an international level and is the global specialist as regards explosion-protected crane technology. Anand Dayanidhi, Country-Head & Director, STAHL CraneSystems India Pvt Ltd, says, “Our product portfolio is comprehensive and unique on the global market. Our hoists and crane components, manufactured in up-to-date series production, form the basis for the consistently high level of quality.”

STAHL CraneSystems’ customers include demanding and reputable EPC companies, machinery and systems builders, crane builders, but also professional end customers. He informs, “We have at our disposal a close-meshed, powerful network of subsidiaries, branch offices and sales partners to enable us to provide expert support for our customers all over the world.”

STAHL CraneSystems has always been open to new aspects, innovative and high-performing, without forgetting its social and ecological responsibilities.

ASR 7 wire rope hoist – the cost-effective standard hoist

Dayanidhi informs, “The ASR 7 wire rope hoist has been especially developed for the load capacity range from 20 to 32 tonnes. It closes the gap between the field-proven wire rope hoist series SH and AS 7. Thanks to the lower load capacity and in some cases lower classification, smaller motors and long-life ropes with smaller diameters can be used. The bottom hook block and rope return sheave have been adapted to the smaller diameter of the rope. The result is a price saving of around 25 per cent compared with comparably dimensioned AS 7 with double rail crab.

Depending on load capacity and application, the ASR 7 is available in three different FEM classifications. It can be used in combination with double rail crabs on double girder overhead travelling cranes, or as stationary lifting or towing equipment. The new wire rope hoist is also available as ASRF 7 with frequency-controlled hoist motors for smooth hoisting and step less speeds.

For the first time on the AS 7 series, load measurement is at the rope anchorage as standard. This permits the lifting and lowering motions to be measured accurately and the load to be indicated on a display.

ASR 7 wire rope hoist – the advantages

  • Standard hoist with excellent price-performance ratio.
  • Reduced design for load capacities from 20,000 kg to 32,000 kg.
  • Stationary design or double rail crabs for crane and systems building.
  • Compact construction and short approach dimensions.
  • Greater lifting height.
  • Accurate load measurement at rope anchorage as standard.
  • Largely maintenance-free, low wear.
