Shaft mounted speed reducer or SMSR are kind of very simple gear box used in mechanical power transmission. It is available in the market with limited variety of ratios, and input power will be given through pulley belt arrangement, and hollow shaft gearbox will be mounted directly on solid shaft of machine. Rotation degree of freedom w.r.t. output shaft axis will be fixed through torque arm. When an application requires different output RPM, it will be achieved by setting up a ratio in pulley arrangement.
