RRB Energy Limited (RRBEL) has developed a state-of-the-art 1.8 MW wind electric generator (WEG) using in-house R&D expertise and with the help from world class consultants. The new 1.8MW WEG (PS-1800kW WEG) has received C-design assessment certificates from Germanischer Lloyd (GL), Germany for two hub heights viz. 80m and 100m.
Sarvesh Kumar, Deputy Managing Director, RRBEL said, “RRBEL’s PS-1800kW WEG offers all the features that are desirable in a modern wind turbine. In India, there is a huge potential and market demand for WEGs with the rating of 1.5MW to 2.0MW. In that sense, RRBEL’s latest 1.8MW WEG will be ideal here. RRBEL’s PS-1,800kW WEG is nothing short of an excellent wind turbine ideally suitable for India and built for Indian climatic and grid conditions”.
The company has plans to commission a manufacturing facility at Poonamallee, Chennai for the serial production of the PS-1800kW WEG.
