Strong and durable automotive lubricants

Manish Dave, Country Manager – Transport and Metal, Henkel Group India explains how machining fluids, lubrication and welding challenges are being met by Henkel’s range of lubricants
Automotive lubricants are required for a range of different processes in production and repair facilities. Various stages, for instance, in the stamping shop, when working on the frame, suspension components and wheels as part of the chassis, on the HVAC units, the powertrain and electric motors necessitate the use of car lubricants. Machining fluids, lubrication and welding challenges are met by Henkel’s range of professional and long-lasting OEM-approved solutions.
Henkel automotive lubricants portfolio• Casting lubricants, for instance, pressure die casting lubricants, pressure die casting release agents, gravity die casting coatings, low-pressure die casting release agents, plunger lubricants, ejector pin lubricants, start-up lubricants, water-free lubricants, etc.• Forging lubricants, specifically hot-forging die lubricants, warm-forging die lubricants, warm-forging billet lubricants, non-pigmented lubricants, non-graphite lubricants, precision forging glazes and extrusion lubricants. • Stamping automotive lubricants and oils. • Cold-forming car lube with a variety of formulas including zinc phosphate, zinc iron phosphate, pickling inhibitors, salt carrier, reactive soap, dephosphate cleaner, polymer and cupper car coating. • Tube forming with lubricants fit for hot mandrel-rolling, hot mandrel bending, end upsetting, cold-drawing and cold-rolling. • Metal working formulas with semi-synthetic coolants, metal removal fluids, solutions for grinding without mineral oils, honing oils • Low-pressure molding and potting materials to protect components in extreme environments including high voltage, high temperatures and chemicals.Benefits of working with Henkel automotive lubricants• Improved productivity and lower costs. Longer die life, shorter circle times, longer tool life and life time, lesser consumption, improved quality of parts with better surface quality and competitive process costs.• Eco-conscious processes with Henkel’s automotive lubricants. Reduction of defects and rejected parts, as well as lowered waste and automotive lubricant‘s consumption while working with safe solutions with no odour and very good skin compatibility.
Bonderite L-MR bactericide-free, odourless cutting fluidsThese water-miscible cooling lubricants offer high lubrication and rinsing performance in one product. They provide a long bath-life because of high hard water stability, which avoid the traditional time and cost implications of regular coolant bath replacements. The finely dispersed Bonderite L-MR emulsion supports good washing performance and provides protection against corrosion. This ensures that tools, machines and processed parts consistently remain clean during production; thereby, resulting in long tool-lifetime and good surface finishing. Downstream cleaning steps are also substantially more efficient. The excellence in the overall washing and lubricating capabilities, and particularly the good rinsing behaviour, which result in very low drag-out of the product concentrate, makes the lubricants highly economical.
The lubricants employed in metal machining need to ensure that the amount of wear caused to the tools used in drilling, milling, turning or grinding operations is reduced to a minimum, even under heavy-duty cutting conditions. The aim of any machining shop should be to extend tool life to an economic maximum. With Bonderite L-MR, Henkel offers an innovative lubricant series that is both odourless and bactericide-free. These lubri-coolants also exhibit excellent bath life thanks to their high hard-water stability.
With an innovative combination of ingredients, Henkel has succeeded in developing a range of emulsions which, at standard service concentrations, offer an exceptionally long bath life, even when mixed with hard water. The formulation is bactericide-free and also needs no topping-up of toxic bactericides. The end result of the significantly longer bath lifetimes available with Bonderite L-MR lubricants is reduced environmental impact combined with appreciably lower operating expenses. Cost advantages accrue to customers because these products are very easy to maintain and the expenses for frequent replenishment and disposal is less. The Bonderite L-MR series contains a variety of lubricants developed with tailored performance characteristics and ingredients to suit specific application requirements.
