Blaupunkt India unveils android based multimedia navigation system

Blaupunkt, one of the world leaders in car infotainment and sound has launched its first android based double-din multimedia navigation system for the aftermarket – the Cape Town 940. While the automotive industry continues to work towards realising a connected car experience, Blaupunkt has taken a big leap in this direction, with the launch of Cape Town 940.
Commenting on the launch, Preeti Bakshi, Marketing Head Blaupunkt India said, “The Cape Town is a major step change in functionality, performance and technology from today’s multimedia navigation radios on the market. This radio offers a cutting edge technology experience in terms of connectivity, integration, processing power, multimedia performance, tuner quality and flexible user interface. And with android and internet access, it opens up a realm of opportunities that were not earlier possible in a car radio – users can now choose from a variety of applications included but not limited to games, rich media/video content, internet radio for over 20,000 channels and ad-free music, podcasts, social media applications, news, weather, financial market, music apps etc. either pre-deployed or via the android app marketplace.
The Cape Town 940, priced at Rs. 54,990, runs on the android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean operating system.
