Adani-Sparton tie-up to boost undersea warfare capabilities

Adani Defence & Aerospace has joined hands with Sparton to co-develop undersea warfare systems. The partnership marks a step toward building naval solutions within the country’s defence manufacturing ecosystem.
Adani Defence & Aerospace signed a legally binding partnership with Sparton (DeLeon Springs LLC), a subsidiary of Elbit Systems known for its advanced Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) technologies. The collaboration focuses on localising the assembly of complex electronic systems and ASW solutions for both Indian and global markets.
With this partnership, Adani becomes the first private Indian company to offer indigenously developed sonobuoy solutions. Sonobuoys are critical for Undersea Domain Awareness (UDA), enabling the detection and tracking of submarines and underwater threats and strengthening naval security operations.
This initiative aligns with the Government of India’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India’ programmes by reducing dependency on foreign manufacturers and promoting domestic defence production. The partnership aims to integrate Sparton’s advanced ASW technology with Adani’s capabilities in development and manufacturing to deliver cutting-edge, mission-ready solutions for the Indian Navy.
