BMW Industries invests ₹50 crore in new tube mills and rooftop solar power

BMW Industries inaugurated two tube mills and a 1.28 MW rooftop solar power plant at Jamshedpur facility.
BMW Industries Limited, one of the manufacturers in the steel services sector, inaugurated two new tube mills and a 1.28 MW rooftop solar power plant at its Jamshedpur facility. The company invested 50 crore in this project to increase production capacity and meet market demand. The rooftop solar system install to partially meet the facility’s internal energy needs, helping reduce reliance on conventional power and advancing the company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Chief Guest Sanjay Surajprakash Sahni, the Executive In Charge of the Tubes Division of Tata Steel, alongside senior company officials and dignitaries.
The company’s tube manufacturing capacity will grow by approximately 60,000 MT per annum, taking the total installed capacity to about 600,000 MT per annum. The new facility developed to meet demand and improve manufacturing capabilities.
Harsh Bansal, Managing Director, BMW Industries, stated, “We are pleased to start operations of the new tube mills at our Jamshedpur plant. This addition aligns with our long-term growth strategy and supports our focus on increasing output to meet market needs. The solar rooftop installation is part of our efforts to reduce dependency on non-renewable sources and manage energy use more effectively. The new solar facility will support a portion of the plant’s energy needs and reduce its carbon footprint. The expanded tube mill capacity will enhance the company’s ability to manufacture steel products such as MS and GI pipes, which are in demand across sectors.
