Schneider Electric is setting up a new IT manufacturing facility at Horizon Industrial Park in Hosur to boost production and support sustainable growth in India.

Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, has announced intentions to build a manufacturing plant for its IT business at Horizon Industrial Park in Hosur, near Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu.

The 500,000-square-foot facility will support the manufacturing, sales, and trade of Battery Management Systems (BMS), which include Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, Power Distribution Units (PDU), cooling products, and electronic accessories. Its placement on the Bangalore-Chennai National Highway ensures access to vital markets.

The construction will be completed in two phases in conjunction with Horizon Industrial Parks, which is financed by Blackstone Real Estate funds. The first phase will contain a dust-free facility, modern office space, and upgrades such as improved power capacity, advanced fire protection systems, and optimal workspace planning for an initial staff of 1,500.

The second phase, which is projected to take seven months, will result in a custom-built facility customised to Schneider Electric’s advanced operational requirements.
