Lapp Group extends range for cable assemblies from component supplier to system supplier

  When people think of Lapp, they normally think of cables, cable glands and connectors of excellent quality. That’s certainly true, but in fact the company’s offering goes much further. Over the past 30 years, the Lapp Group has developed expertise in the field of cable assembly at a number of locations – including at Jigani, Baengaluru – Lapp India manufacturing plant. With the company continuously expanding its knowledge of the industry, it is now able to meet even the most complex requirements.
Under the new name of ÖLFLEXCONNECT, Lapp is now extending these activities and standardising all global cable assembly activities for customers, including consultation. For that purpose, the company has been increasing its corresponding production and assembly capacities in America, Europe and Asia. As a result, the number of sites has risen from 5 in 2015 to 12 in 2016. This means that Lapp is in an even better position than before to produce assembled cabling solutions around the world according to customer requirements, the company said.
The customers benefit from customised solutions, high quality thanks to the optimum interaction of all components and expert on-site consultation. “Nobody knows Lapp products as well as ourselves: from the selection of the highest-quality copper, and granulate for the sheath, through to testing for series production. ÖLFLEX CONNECT is based on three cornerstones:• ÖLFLEXCONNECT Cables: Classic cable assembly. This refers to all cables for which Lapp assumes control of cutting to length, marking, stripping and connecting cables to connectors – in standardised designs or according to individual customer requirements.
• ÖLFLEXCONNECT SERVO:  Assembly of servo cables. They are available from the cost effective basic line servo solution for applications free of aggressive environmental influences, to the core line, specially designed for dynamic applications, right up to the highly dynamic extended line performance class. Lapp offers the right solution for every requirements profile. the servo cables can be built as per the standards of Siemens, Rockwell, Fanuc, and Bosch.
• ÖLFLEXCONNECT Chain: Assembly of entire drag chains. In this context, Lapp also assumes control of the integration of the cables into the drag chain. “On request, Lapp will even perform assembly in the plant on the customer’s premises,” the company claims. Complex solutions are also possible in this regard – for example, fully equipped steel drag chains weighing several tonnes that are used in a wide range of industries.
