The intralogistics expert implemented the 7-level multi-tier Mezzanine platform system to store diverse goods of different sizes and picking requirements while ensuring the highest safety. The challenge 

Teerachaiphaisarn Corporation wanted to provide customers with a comprehensive product range for complex applications. The aim was to increase product range and create a better overall customer experience. In addition, the growing demands created an issue of storage space to ensure a fast supply chain to serve the Thai market demand. Teerachaiphaisarn Corporation built a new distribution center and worked closely with SSI SCHAEFER to optimize space utilization and product traceability.

The solution 

Teerachaiphaisarn Corporation selected SSI SCHAEFER to conduct an analysis of the warehouse activity and propose a cost-effective storage solution. The solution comprises of a 7-level multi-tier Mezzanine fitted with the Interlock 600 Long-span Shelving to provide customizable storage for a wide range of SKUs. The shelving systems include multiple adjustments to provide ideal ergonomics for the storage of cartons, small parts boxes and loose items. Thanks to the superior materials, the structural design offers not only a high load capacity but also a maximum amount of safety to the warehouse. In order to optimize the flow of the supply chain in the warehouse, goods are categorized on specific floors of the mezzanine. Goods with fast-moving categories are stored on the 1st to 3rd floor, slower- moving items are on the 4th floor and buffered stocks are on the 5th and 6th floor. The rooftop on the 7th floor is catered for air ventilation.

The result 

With 2,314 compartments to store part items of various SKUs, SSI SCHAEFER solution for Teerachaiphaisarn Corporation has successfully catered the storage space for over 12,000 SKUs. Most importantly, the solution improves operation productivity throughout the warehouse to serve customers efficiently and quickly.
