Italian Tech in India 2024 was a resounding success, inspiring attendees to adopt the best Italian technology in their production processes. It marked a new chapter in the Indo-Italian partnership and promised a future filled with innovation, collaboration, and mutual growth.

The Auto Cluster Expo grounds in Pune, India, recently hosted a groundbreaking event that showcased the latest advancements in Italian technology and highlighted the growing Indo-Italian cooperation. OEM Update magazine was privileged to attend this momentous occasion, which promised to redefine the landscape of technology exchange between the two countries.

Italy, renowned for its culinary delights, fashion, and automotive excellence, unveiled a lesser-known facet of its expertise through various innovations in Agri-Food Technologies, Automotive marvels, Infrastructure & Construction innovations, and Engineering excellence. These cutting-edge technologies, proudly produced in India by Italian companies, were on display, offering a glimpse into the future of collaboration between the two nations.

The exhibition floor was exciting as visitors explored various offerings, from woodworking machinery to metrology solutions, automotive braking systems, and construction chemicals. The event showcased the ingenuity and craftsmanship of Italian companies and served as a testament to their creativity and craftsmanship.

A highlight of the event was the insightful Panel Discussion on “Italian Advanced Manufacturing Technology for Emerging Sectors,” which focused on revolutionizing sectors like Defense, Aerospace, Future Mobility, Healthcare, and beyond. Esteemed panellists shared their expertise and perspectives, shedding light on the immense potential for growth and innovation in these sectors.

In an exclusive interview with Claudio Maffioleti, CEO and Secretary-General of the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IICCI), shared that bilateral trade between Italy and India reached its peak at 15 Billion Euros in 2022, following the post-pandemic period. Mr Maffioleti highlighted Italy’s substantial investment of about 18 billion euros in India over the past decade, with 800 Italian companies across various sectors. This underscored the significant opportunities that Indian markets offer Italian companies, further emphasizing the importance of collaboration and technological exchange between the two countries.

The event culminated in the prestigious IICCI Impresa Awards, honouring innovation, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility pioneers. This recognition not only celebrated excellence but also motivated companies to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation and sustainability.
