To advance India’s industrial growth, DPIIT has joined hands with Häfele India. This collaboration marks a strategic push toward innovation, self-reliance, and global manufacturing competitiveness.
To contribute to India’s manufacturing and innovation environment, Häfele India Pvt. Ltd. and the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The partnership seeks to further India’s ambition to become a global manufacturing hub while empowering entrepreneurs and MSMEs.
Through targeted investments, mentorship, and integration into global value chains, Häfele will spearhead initiatives to support local sourcing, entrepreneurship, and product innovation as part of the relationship. By giving them access to infrastructure, supplier growth, technical cooperation, and market prospects, the company will further assist entrepreneurs and MSMEs. Häfele has already placed purchase orders with Indian MSME makers of furniture fittings and architectural accessories and invested more than USD 2.5 million in a business that manufactures appliances in India.
To assist the project, DPIIT would make it easier for startups to connect, participate in programmes, and co-brand through Startup India.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to building collaborative industrial ecosystems that combine global best practices with India’s entrepreneurial drive,” said Sanjiv, Joint Secretary, DPIIT.Additionally, “India’s manufacturing and innovation capacity is exceptional,” said Frank Schloeder, Managing Director – South Asia, Häfele. We pledge to facilitate the transition from “India for India” to “India for the World” through this Memorandum of Understanding.
In the presence of senior representatives from both companies, Frank Schloeder, Managing Director – South Asia, Häfele India, and Dr Sumeet Jarangal, Director, DPIIT, signed the Memorandum of Understanding. It will be in place for two years, but if both parties agree, it may be extended.
