GRSE Signs MoU with Reintjes for Propulsion Upgrade

Kolkata-based GRSE has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Reintjes GmbH. This deal will enable GRSE to adopt next-gen propulsion gear. The upgrade will improve the capabilities of various ships.
Considering it as a major milestone, GRSE stated that Reintjes GmbH will support its mission to adopt cutting-edge marine technologies. The German firm is expected to play a vital role in enhancing the quality of GRSE’s shipbuilding ambitions.
Under the partnership, GRSE intends to leverage Reintjes GmbH’s decades of marine gearbox expertise. This will streamline propulsion systems. It will further improve the overall performance of the ship. Officials say that the partnership will be a catalyst for tech collaboration. The partnership will also support localized production. By integrating advanced propulsion solutions, GRSE will gain a competitive edge.
After signing the MoU, a Sr. GRSE official commented: “This partnership with Reintjes GmbH is a strategic leap forward. It reflects our ongoing commitment to integrating world-class marine technologies into Indian shipbuilding. Over 60 years, GRSE has stood out in building defence shipyards. Since its inception, the organization has been offering complex vessels to the Indian Navy and Coast Guard.
