Eveready’s Lucknow unit gets BIS Certification for quality standards

The Eveready Flashlight Company (TEFCO), a key manufacturing unit of Eveready Industries India Ltd in Lucknow, has received certification from the BIS. As one of India’s most established facilities, TEFCO’s commitment to quality and manufacturing rigor has earned it national recognition.
As unorganised players continue to enter the flashlight market, this BIS recognition has become more about a formality. Many products are sold without proper MRP labelling and safety checks. This misleads consumers about the value and quality. But, the certification fosters trust because it establishes a clear quality benchmark. This ensures that only compliant flashlights reach the consumers.
Commenting on this achievement, Anirban Banerjee, CEO of Eveready Industries India Ltd, stated, “This certification reinforces our role as a trusted brand and our continued commitment to excellence in product quality.”
Echoing this sentiment, Arun Kumar Sahay, Senior Vice President & Head – Operations, added, “Earning the BIS certification is a proud moment that reflects our efforts to meet the highest standards in every product we deliver.”
With the certification now secured, the unit will manufacture flashlights with the CML number and the ISI mark. In addition to the flashlights, the facility produces rechargeable torches and numerous products. This is a milestone of the plant set up in 1958.
