However, a lot more has to be achieved to reach the global standard.  Opportunities and challengesMachine tool industry has a huge potential. Speaking on the opportunities and challenges of the metal forming machine tools in India, D’souza says, “There is an opportunity for new offerings as the technology keeps changing for better productivity at a lower cost. As far as the challenges are concerned, we still have to long way to go in terms of quality manpower, quick adaptability to fast changing technologies.”
