SPAC SQ2 cylinders; for light weight handling industries

Compact size and stroke pneumatic cylinder is one of the younger technologies compared to conventional long stroke cylinders. SPAC Pneumatics’ short stroke SQ2 cylinders, are one of the more compact type cylinder, amongst other compact series cylinders, like SDVU, compact ISO21287 cylinders; available in various sizes from diameter 20mm to 100mm, and up to the stroke length of 80mm maximum. Because of its short length, the space saving cylinder helps to save the machine or equipment’s overall size and making it more compact.

SPAC SQ2 cylinders with short stroke, non-adjustable cushion mechanism helps for high speed and lesser cycle time, to achieve more productivity for light weight handling industries, like, packaging, pharma, food, assembly lines and also for prolonged design and service life. Unlike other manufacturers, SPAC SQ2 cylinders hastwo numbers of Poly Urethane (PU) lip-type expandable piston seals. These seals either expand or are compressed uni-directionally, along with the increase or decrease of pressure to provide zero leakage performance. The same will provide better diametrical guide to avoid overhanging, while applying little extra loads to withstand extra wear and tear for robust the performance, with more durability.

Most of the compact cylinder manufacturers provide only one Nitrile (NBR) based piston seal, for lighter load withstand ability. The PU seals, having low co-efficient of friction than Nitrile seals, increase the rapidity and lifecycle of the piston-seals, by reducing the friction between barrel and piston seals.
