HESPL leads the way in India with the launch of advanced EM technology. This technology uses borehole EM devices and surface-mounted SQUID sensors. The combination of the tools enables to detect the mineral resources accurately.
In a major advancement, the borehole EM technology is now helping to map conductive mineral bodies in detail. These primarily include sulfide-rich deposits. Complementing this, SQUID sensors, when placed at the surface, capture faint electromagnetic signals. These work well for locating low-conductivity objects.
Alongside the EM technology, Hindmetal is expanding its technological arsenal by drone-based LiDAR. Hyperspectral surveys are further carried out for detailed surface mapping. As part of its Greenfield exploration drive, the organization is integrating satellite data and geological indicators. This move helps in locating underground mineral reserves.
Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc, said, “The future of mineral exploration lies in combining advanced science with intelligent technology. At Hindustan Zinc, we are reshaping the way resources are located—by promoting digital innovation, building skilled teams, and collaborating with technology innovators. Hindmetal’s breakthroughs not only mark progress in exploration but also strengthen India’s self-reliance in critical mineral supply.”
Hindmetal follows a “Data-to-Discovery” path to enhance its efforts. The company is known for its technical expertise and has a Category A accreditation from QCI-NABET.
