This alliance would benefit both new and existing customers of Wipro and EOS with the technically superior AM solutions

Wipro3D, the Additive Manufacturing (Industrial 3D printing) Business Unit of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering and EOS, the global technology provider for high-end solutions in the area of Additive Manufacturing (AM), announced a strategic alliance to offer a complete suite of standard and customized AM solutions, products and services, based on the laser melting technology, to a wide range of industries including aerospace, space, industrial, automotive, and oil and gas.

This alliance would benefit both new and existing customers of Wipro and EOS with the technically superior AM solutions, practices and knowledge offered by the alliance.

The alliance would deliver the complete value chain of AM solutions from design to production, enabled through consulting, engineering design, DFAM (Design for AM), materials research, custom parameter development, post processing, prove out, and production capabilities.

“We will soon set up a state-of-the-art AM solutions- cum- experience centre in Bengaluru,” said Pratik Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Wipro Infrastructure Engineering. “The centre will offer a unique hands-on experience to customers and help them explore and adopt next-generation AM technologies in their businesses.”

A critical part of Wipro3D’s strategic blueprint is to create a robust ecosystem of aligned partners. The proposed solution centre will act as a platform for other AM solution providers, to participate in the Wipro AM ecosystem.

“There is increasing interest in adapting metal AM within enterprises, with needs ranging from prototyping to production volumes. This brings in a host of complexities that need to be addressed through innovative business and engagement models, deep domain competencies, prove out capabilities, process quality control, repeatability and reliability. This alliance will help enterprises adapt metal AM, in a systematic and sustainable way,” said Ajay Parikh, Business Head, Wipro3D.

Dr. Adrian Keppler, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), EOS says, “India is a key market and has a pivotal position in our global strategy. We believe this partnership will create value for both the companies. At the same time, it will further push industrialization of AM and will enable new applications based on our technology.”

Commenting on the alliance, Terrence Oh, Vice President Asia Pacific, EOS adds, “This partnership
could serve as a blueprint for a global roll out of such joint offerings.”

Anand Prakasam, Country Manager, EOS adds, “This partnership will create a potent force in the industry and will serve to increase the adoption of AM technology across sectors. We want to empower industries to realize the benefits of AM to produce superior products with the help of this cutting edge technology.”

The alliance is aimed at offering innovative solutions, at the higher end of the value chain, rather than just ‘printing metal’.
