Ravi Uppal quits L&T

Ravi Uppal, Whole-time Director & President (Power), L&T has resigned as Director of the Company. “The resignation will be effective from September 15, 2012,” the company said in a filing to the BSE.

According to the industry experts, Mr. Uppal’s resignation was quite obvious after the unexpected elevation of K. Venkataramanan to the post of CEO and MD at L&T in March this year. It was a clear indication sent to Mr. Uppal about the objective of L&T’s management.
Prior joining L&T in 2009, Mr. Uppal spent over 22 years with the ABB Group and was their President – Global Markets and Member of the ABB Group Executive Committee based in Switzerland.
