Siemens inaugurates test centre for motors

Siemens Ltd. has inaugurated its state-of-the-art ‘Advanced Motor Test Centre’ at Kalwa Works near Mumbai. One of the most advanced test centres of its kind globally, the fully automated test centre houses 8 test benches capable of testing motors in the wide range of 120 W to 3000 kW.
The Indian electrical equipment Industry has witnessed a host of changes in recent years including adoption of new standards for efficiency for Industrial motors. This also has given rise to new testing methods for efficiency calculation as well. Awaiting accreditation from National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), the test centre is established as per global testing standards and is the most advanced test centre as on date across the Siemens organisation.
