Ador Welding Limited has achieved a patent for a hybrid welding method that combines GTAW and GMAW technologies. This technique increases the deposition rate by 1.5 times without spatters, ensuring high-quality weld beads and increased welding speed.
Ador Welding Limited, India’s leading manufacturer of welding equipment, consumables, and automation systems, is to disclose the grant of a new patent entitled “Hybrid Welding Method and Combination Torch Device for High Quality Welding,” marking a significant milestone as India’s first company to receive such a patent in the welding industry.
This patent was obtained for a revolutionary welding technology that combines gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW) technologies in novel ways to dramatically increase welding quality and efficiency.
Developed by Ador’s dedicated team from the Technical Development Centre, including Dr. Omkar Sahastrabuddhe, this innovative method uses a dual-torch system to increase the deposition rate by 1.5 times compared to the standard GMAW process, without generating spatters akin to the GTAW process. This hybrid technique ensures high-quality, spatter-free, and hump-free weld beads, thereby increasing welding speed and efficiency.
Aditya Malkani Managing Director, Ador Welding said, “Our commitment to innovation and local manufacturing has once again placed Ador and India at the forefront of the global welding industry. The hybrid welding method represents a leap forward in welding technology, benefiting various industries and contributing to India’s industrial prowess. This patent is not just a testament to our team’s hard work and expertise but also aligns with the Make in India initiative, promoting self-reliance and technological advancement.”This specific technique will revolutionise a variety of industries, including manufacturing, shipbuilding, defence, and agriculture. It increases productivity and efficiency in fabrication and repair by allowing for 1G position welding with fewer passes. The novel technology is poised to transform surface processing and cladding of ferrous and non-ferrous alloys, satisfying significant demands in these industries.
Ador Welding plans to leverage this patented technology to expand its market reach and provide customized solutions through its Welding Automation division. This technology not only supports the existing client base by improving their operational efficiency but also attracts new customers seeking advanced, high-quality welding solutions. Furthermore, Ador is exploring the use of a single power source to further optimize this technology, aligning with cost-effective and sustainable manufacturing practices.
Ador Welding continues to innovate and lead in providing sophisticated welding technologies to satisfy the demands of a continuously changing industrial world. Ador’s new patent underlines its position as a welding technology pioneer, dedicated to delivering excellence and increasing productivity for industries around the world.
