“Talking for digitisation is not enough”

By June 29, 2017 4:00 pm IST

Most people in the industry are not aware of the availability of new technologies available, government schemes or resources available for procuring such technologies.

Established in 1992, Technic Automation is one of the leading players in industrial automation. Discussing on the importance of adopting digitisation in manufacturing process, Bhupendra Khatri, Director, Technic Automation said, “We belong to customise automation industry and the word automation itself suggests digitisation.”

The company’s primary working principal is to replace manpower with machine power, more appropriately with automisation. “We encourage our customers to adopt automisation because it will help in reducing error, omission, delay, fault etc. and eventually increasing productivity with consistent quality,” he adds.

Govt should focus on increasing awareness

Even though digitisation is essential to be in market in current competitive scenario, unfortunately the industry is not preparing itself for digitisation, comments Khatri. He observes, “Most people in the industry are not aware of the availability of new technologies available, government schemes or resources available for procuring such technologies. Merely talking for digitisation is not enough. The government should encourage, publish necessary details regularly for such facilities so that even small or medium size entrepreneur can grow.”

Focus on required features, not just smart features
Technic Automation designs its product based on customisation required to a customer, looking to his/her need and availability of resources with them. “If a customer is ready for fully-automatic then we provide it to him and if semi- automatic is good enough then we provide the same. Our focus is not just ‘smart features’, but ‘required features’.”

He also said, “We believe in continuous learning mode by any means, which helps us to cater for new techniques and tactics for achieving our goals for quality manufacturing.”
