Jupiter Renewables will invest ₹2,700 crore in a two-phase solar manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh, creating over 2,200 jobs as part of the state’s clean energy push.
Andhra Pradesh is becoming a centre for solar manufacturing, with Jupiter Renewables planning to invest ₹2,700 crore in a solar cell and module production facility at the Rambilli in Anakapalli district. Andhra Pradesh is emerging as a hub for solar manufacturing. The business, a division of Jupiter International, plans to construct a 1.5 GW module facility and a 4.8 GW solar cell in two stages.
Jupiter plans to invest ₹1,504 crore to build 2.4 GW of solar cells and 1.5 GW of module production capacity in the first phase. The goal is to finish this phase by March 2026. With an expenditure of ₹1,196 crore, the second phase is expected to deliver an additional 2.4 GW of cell capacity by July 2026. 2,216 jobs are expected to be created by the project as a whole.
The government of Andhra Pradesh wants to generate 7.5 lakh jobs and draw in ₹10 lakh crore in investments in clean energy. A 50% capital subsidy up to ₹1,096.98 crore, a 50% decarbonisation subsidy up to ₹118.18 crore, full stamp duty reimbursement, 142 acres of land at ₹50 lakh per acre, and a power tariff subsidy of ₹1 per unit for 10 years, up to a maximum of ₹341 crore, are among the incentives the state has provided to Jupiter Renewables.
To encourage local production and reduce dependency on imports, India will enforce the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) and require the use of domestically produced solar cells in government projects beginning in June 2026.
