BEML rolls out Nation’s first stainless steel EMU & 100 ton stainless steel wagon [Nov 2011]

BEML rolls out Nation’s first stainless steel EMU & 100 ton stainless steel wagonBEML, with its state-of-the-art R&D establishment, has designed and manufactured Stainless Steel EMU (Electrical Multiple Unit) and 100 Ton Stainless Steel Wagon, India’s first, against the orders of Indian Railway and to deploy for Nation’s Freight Corridor. BEML is the Public Sector Company under the Ministry of Defence, engaged in design, development and manufacturing of equipment for Defence & Aerospace, Rail & Metro, Mining & Construction, Trading, Dredging and e-Engineering. 
These domestically developed engineering products for Railways have been flagged-off by Dinesh Trivedi, Minister for Railways at the Bangalore Complex of the Company. Besides these unique railway products, BEML has also developed 8 Wheel OHE Car, deployable on rail tracks for repair of overhead electric lines, has also been rolled-out today at BEML Bangalore Complex, dedicated to the Nation by KH Muniyappa, Minister of State for Railway today in the presence of Railway Minister.

It is recalled that BEML has manufactured Country’s First Standard Gauge Metro Rail Cars for Delhi Metro and Aluminium Bottom Discharges Wagon for NALCO which were rolled-off by the then Chief Minister of Karnataka and Minister of State for Defence and Minister of State for Railways on 11th September 2009.
The Railway Minister has inaugurated the BEML Metro Station with Metro Model at the Bangalore Complex, built by BEML adjacent to Road, as part of CSR activity, coinciding with the inauguration of ‘NAMMA METRO’ by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.
BEML, being the only Indian Company manufacturing Metro Cars, has supplied the rolling stock to Delhi Metro and Bangalore Metro. BEML has set a target of Rs.4,300 crore to achieve during the FY 2011-12 with an Order Book of over Rs.5,000 crore.
