Actuant India opens manufacturing facility in Bangalore

Actuant India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Actuant Corporation USA, announced the opening of its manufacturing facility in Bengaluru. The facility will support the company globally by offering value-added capabilities to drive business growth and accelerate operational excellence.
Actuant India, headquartered in Bengaluru in a facility spanning 16,000 square feet, currently has an employee base of 90 employees. The company plans on increasing the workforce commensurate with its plans to grow Actuant India’s penetration of various product lines in the region. The new manufacturing facility, slated to be inaugurated on October 30, 2013, spans 25,000 square feet with the option of scaling up to 100,000 square feet. The state-of-the-art facility is fully-automated and will initially start with assembling and manufacturing products for three of Actuant’s businesses namely Power-Packer, Enerpac, and Hydratight.

The operations in the plant will include:• Power-Packer, specialists in motion control technologies, has developed the cab tilt hydraulic cylinder assembly line. Future plans include additional Actuant product lines to fully support Indian customers as well as global customers. • Enerpac, the leading global provider of high-pressure hydraulic solutions, will have its assembly lines, ware house for distribution, service centre and a customer training centre. It will manufacture products for domestic and export markets. The Training centre will conduct trainings and product familiarisation for dealers, distributors, customers and employees. • Hydratight, the world-class leader in providing leak-free solutions, will have a service centre and rental base operation catering to bolting solutions with further expansion plans into on-site machining services. Future plans also include local manufacturing or assembly of products based on Hydratight’s policy to bring a complete array of joint integrity solutions to India.
