Porsche and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have signed an agreement for management and IT consultancy for the sale of MHP to TCS. The deal marks another milestone in Porsche’s “Sportwagenschmiede 35” strategy and its effort to sharpen its focus on its core automotive business. The transaction represents a strategic shift for Porsche while creating a new partnership between Porsche, TCS and MHP in digital solutions and artificial intelligence. The companies plan to collaborate on developing, scaling and integrating AI applications across key business areas. Therefore, supporting Porsche’s digital transformation will help unlock additional opportunities across its value chain.

Dr Michael Leiters, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG, says, “Porsche is taking another important step in its strategy to focus resolutely on its core business with the transfer of MHP to Tata Consultancy Services. At the same time, we are gaining a strategic partner in TCS. By combining Porsche’s automotive expertise with TCS’s digital technology and AI capabilities, we will further strengthen our innovative power, increase efficiency and boost our competitiveness in an increasingly data- and software-driven world of mobility.”

MHP will also remain an important strategic partner for Porsche after the ownership change. The two companies are expected to continue their long-standing collaboration, particularly in digitalisation, transformation and artificial intelligence.

MHP has developed into an internationally active management and IT consultancy over more than three decades. The company supports organisations with complex strategy and IT transformations across the value chain, combining industry knowledge with technology expertise to develop business models, processes and scalable industrial solutions.

Its customer base spans multiple sectors, including automotive, manufacturing, aerospace, defence, energy and the public sector. As a long-standing Porsche partner, MHP has developed extensive expertise in automotive transformation and has supported the sports-car manufacturer on numerous complex programmes.

Future growth areas for MHP include artificial intelligence, software-defined manufacturing, supply chain management, integration and scaling, cybersecurity, programme management, platforms and ecosystems. The company employs more than 4,500 people worldwide and is headquartered in Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart.

K. Krithivasan, CEO and Managing Director of TCS, states, “TCS is pleased to partner with Porsche in its transformation journey. As AI, software and data redefine the automotive industry, this partnership brings together TCS’ capabilities in AI, engineering and technology and business transformation with MHP’s strong automotive consulting expertise. Together, we will industrialise AI at scale for Porsche, accelerating innovation across the value chain to deliver intelligent, software-defined mobility experiences of the future.”

From now on, MHP will become part of Tata Consultancy Services, a global provider of IT services, consultancy and technology solutions within the Tata Group. TCS operates across 55 countries and serves clients in numerous industries.

For Porsche, the agreement combines a sharper focus on its core business with continued access to MHP’s specialised digital and transformation expertise. For MHP, joining TCS is expected to provide additional opportunities for international growth, innovation and technology development while maintaining its identity and established relationship with Porsche.
