Now, Maxbyte has started the USA, UK, UAE, Singapore operations to cater the Industry 4.0 needs of the markets.
Maxbyte’s Digital Manufacturing Discovery Program
As per many markets research report on digitisation using technology like IIoT, 40 percent of manufacturers are in process of implementing IIoT and 46 percent of manufacturers have IIoT initiatives in place. But is your digitisation program effective to enable a data-driven manufacturing? Digital manufacturing has seen explosive growth now and even before Covid-19. As the pandemic worsened, many manufacturers who were new to digitisation found that it works well for them. Organisations implementing digital manufacturing are increasingly focusing on the business outcomes of the technology. Adopting digital manufacturing solutions and achieving business outcomes is complex. Organisations lacking experience in adopting IIoT-based digital technologies need a well-defined digital strategy and a set metric to measure success. Digital leaders must develop a clear understanding of the enterprise’s business objectives. As a result, it’s more important than ever to discover your structured digital transformation approach. Here are three key activities to ensure your transformation will be meaningful and helpful for your digital enterprise.
Strategise digital transformation
- Assess the current digitalisation maturity level of your end-to-end business processes – engineering, manufacturing, service. This also includes benchmarking and market research.
- Develop implementation roadmaps at plant, product and company level for your successful digital transformation of the business processes of manufacturing enterprise.
- Form a Digital team inside your organisation. As part of the company, this function will conceptualise and accompany the implementation of digital transformation.
Experience digitisation Proof of Value
- Unlike Proof of Concept (PoC), which proves a concept will work, Proof of Value (PoV) takes a deeper dive into the value of that solution for your organisation so you can justify adoption and measure success. Following is the must have uses cases any manufacturer should start with in the shop floor digital transformation.
- Production OEE analytics: To measure, analyse and improve the availability, performance, and quality of a manufacturing process.
- Condition monitoring and diagnostics: To measure and analyse the critical equipment performance and health parameters for process traceability and maintenance predictability.
- Smart maintenance system: To automate machine alerts for proactive maintenance, intelligent root cause analysis and corrective action and preventive actions.
- Energy analytics: To measure, analyse, and optimise electrical energy consumption and correlation of energy and production data for cost savings.
Up-skill to get ready for digital manufacturing transformation
- Industrial IOT overview: To develop the understanding on the IoT concepts, technology architecture, Edge devices, software and analytics platform and Augmented Reality.
- OT -IT integration: To develop skilled, trained, and recognised IIoT engineers who bring structural enhancement to the digitisation process and drive transformation.
- Industrial data science: To develop skilled manufacturing analytics professional to handle the complexity of myriad data sources, perform insightful analytics and bring out effective business solutions.

The Factory Science – Industry 4.0 learning platform
The Factory Science is a part of Maxbyte Industry 4.0 Learning Solutions, it an experiential and interactive learning platform for manufacturing customers. It includes digital factory experience setup to experience the factory of future, Interactive industrial digitisation knowledge and skill development learning management system and digital factory innovation, experimentation and adoption tools.
The Factory Science specifically offers a package of three learning programs to the manufacturing community, such as:
- Master Class: Live webinar sessions on top industrial digitisation topics. Each session will be of one hour.
- Diploma Class: This is a one stop solution to upskill all the associates from shopfloor to top floor. This contains four learning programs on industrial digitisation with live sessions.
- Hands-on workshop: Mentorship workshop on industrial digitisation, handled by industry experts and mentors.
Master classes
The Master Class is a live webinar session on top industrial digitisation topics. The sessions will be handled by industry experts and mentors, who have experiential knowledge on digital manufacturing and industrial digitisation.
The master class contains two tracks as Data-Driven Product Lifecycle and Industry 4.0 Technologies. There are 6 topics in the first track, which is 1 hour per session. The topics which will be covered in the two tracks are:
Track 1 – Data-driven product lifecycle
- Digital production system
- Smart Asset Maintenance
- Digital energy and utilities management
- Smart connected product
- Connected revenue model
- Data-driven and knowledge-based engineering

What we did so far
So far, we have completed one series of Track 1 Master Class on data driven product lifecycle and currently the second series is going live. Meanwhile the series 1 of Track 2 – Industry 4.0 Technologies will be starting from 21st of June. These sessions will be happening every month.
How it helps
The sessions help in lot of awareness among various groups of manufacturing industry professionals and give them an idea of how exactly the industrial digitisation works in an organisation.
Maxbyte Advanced Robotics Centre
As part of Maxbyte Advanced Research Centre (MARC), we have developed AX platform for robotisation of manually operated Industrial vehicles into Industrial Mobile Robots (IMR). AX platform consist of the hardware devices and software platform for autonomous operations. The hardware consists of the AX box that interfaces with industry standard LIDAR, safety laser sensors, 3D cameras along with provision to hold Analog and Digital I/Os. The software consists of the IMR firmware that is inside the AX box and for IMR control and fleet manager that resides on server in the same network as IMR.
The IMR firmware has inbuilt algorithms and programs for:
- Localisation and Navigation
- Obstacle avoidance
- Dynamic object detection and pose estimation
- Safety and rules configuration
- Remote communication
- Self-healing and quarantine
The Fleet Manager software consists of features including:
- IMR routing • IMR work scheduling
- IMR parameter configuration
- Interfaces to ERP, IOT, WMS, MES etc.
- Aftermarket intelligence for IMR diagnostics and performance
- Augmented Reality for visualisation
- Wallet of Things for consumption-based pricing
Some of the applications of AX box in real world scenarios include:
- Battery operated pallet trucks
- Counterbalancing forklifts
- Industrial cleaning equipment
- Agricultural equipment like tractors and tillers
- Indoor golf carts etc.
Of the above, AX Platform is already implemented for battery operated pallet trucks and Industrial cleaning equipment.
The idea is a novel approach of Robotisation of manually operated machines. This helps manufacturers robotise their existing vehicles and OEMs to launch robotised new product lines. The proposed model of providing the entire solution in Robot as a Service model accelerates the ease of adoption among initial users of robotics. The AX platform is also complete package for the adoption of Robotics for OEMs. AX platform helps manufacturers by focusing on need for safety and need to improve productivity. The key USPs of AX Platform are:
- Plug and Play model
- Wide library of algorithms and methods
- Modular solutions
- Interoperable with existing systems
- AI based self-learning and self-healing
- No code graphical user interface
- Affordable and in RaaS mode
