As ‘Condition Monitoring’ and ‘Predictive Maintenance’ tend to be used interchangeably, it is vital to understand the differences. Condition monitoring describes collecting data using physical or virtual sensors to monitor the condition of something; in the case of gear motors and frequency inverters, factors like temperature, vibrations, current, and so on hold importance.
